What happens at my first Brazilian?
We'll talk for a minute about what you'd like, then I'll work quickly in small sections with hard wax. Most Brazilians take about 15 minutes, but I book first visits for 30 so we never have to rush and there's time to make sure your skin is calm and cared for before you go. You'll be covered and comfortable the whole time, and I'll walk you through each step.
Does it hurt?
A little, mostly the first time. Hard wax grips the hair rather than the skin, which makes it much gentler than strip wax. Clients who come regularly usually find it gets easier every visit.
How long should my hair be?
About a quarter inch, roughly the length of a grain of rice. That's usually two to three weeks of growth after shaving. Too short and the wax can't grab it.
How should I prepare?
Gently exfoliate a day or two before, come with clean, dry skin, and skip lotions that day. If you use retinol or prescription skin products, stop them on the area about a week before a face wax.
What about aftercare?
For the first day or two, avoid hot tubs, saunas, tanning, intense workouts and tight clothing. After that, exfoliate a few times a week to help prevent ingrown hairs.
How often should I come in?
Most clients book a Brazilian every four to five weeks and brows every three to four. Staying on a regular schedule keeps the hair finer and the visits quicker.
Should I choose waxing or laser?
It depends on your hair and your goals. Laser works best on dark hair and takes many sessions. Waxing works on every hair color and leaves you smooth the same day. Happy to talk it through at your visit.
Do you wax men?
Yes. Brows, chest, back, shoulders and more. Gentlemen are always welcome.
